Erin (they/them) is a queer, nonbinary artist and herbalist with an ongoing obsession with texture, pattern, and color. A voracious autodidact, Erin’s curiosity and thirst for constant exploration have led to a wide range of creative interests that culminate in a unique multidisciplinary practice. Their varied artistic works include encaustic and mixed-media painting, ceramics, leather and fiber art, silversmithing and lapidary, murals, digital illustration and crafting herbal-based salt baths, soaps, salves and remedies.

Bligh’s work is profoundly inspired by the natural world — the flow of water, cracks in scorched earth, the organic irregularity of melting of snow, the fractal patterns of flora and fauna. They strive to create a bold visual and emotional impact with every piece they create. They are particularly passionate about creating both public and wearable art, believing that increasing accessibility to art in everyday life helps to create and foster community.

The recent re-centering of studio art in their practice marks a departure from a decade long endeavor in edible art.

The founder and cheesemaker of Dancing Goats Dairy + Apothecary, they have spent most of their time pouring their creative energy into their farm. Their canvas has been a creamy vat of fresh milk; their palette the delicate flavor notes of fresh grass from rotating pastures and their studio assistants a herd of goats with personalities even more eccentric then their own. They recently made a shift from cheese to apothecary products in an effort coexist more harmoniously with the land they occupy and to make more time to enjoy the joys of creating at a more sedate pace.
